"A Pair of Glass Slippers"

A Pair of Glass Slippers

PROLOGUE
Once upon a time, in the far end of the town, there sat a lonely mansion, from where Prince Malcom galloped his horse, and oversaw his kingdom from the lonesome hill.

At the bottom of the hill, there sat a crowded foster home, where a young fair maiden named Ginger often gazed out of the windows, and imagined what handsome prince could be found across the field.

Proper Social Services for Orphans

Belladonna Post - Fall 2001 Issue
Editor: Peter Ottomas

For the longest time, as far back as anyone can remember, it is impossible for parents whose kids have been taken away by social services to get in touch with their kids. The kids were moved from temporary shelter to another temporary shelter, and their development were greatly stunted. With the donation of Herbert and Faith Goodie and public bonds issued by Sim State, a more permanent home and school was built for such kids. Six orphaned children of the Newson family were the first to move into the foundation. Garrett moved in while he was a toddler, and was adopted by Alison Thompson who was his nanny.

The Goodie Foundation has all the facilities for infant, toddler care, and facilities for children and young teenagers to develop various skills. Kids can call and invite their relatives over if they want. Aside from the Goodies, the Foundation is also staffed with a cafeteria cook and a full-time caretaker, Lily Do. Families interested in adopting children can also visit the foundation so they can get to know the kid ahead of time. The Goodies not only tutor the children on their homeworks, but also act as councilers for young teenagers.

Monitoring of Alien Activities Continues

Strangetown Observer - Fall 2000 Issue
Editor: Tank Grunt

Aliens and their descendants have lived among us in Strangetown for a generation now. Many have already taken their presence for granted. Surely kids with alien heritage looks innocent enough, and some such as Jill Smith looks exactly like us. Yet who knows whether or not they have been programmed to subvert our society in some distant future? It is imperative that we keep an close eye on families with alien connections for public safety. General Grunt has assigned military officers to monitor the activities of two such families:

The Curious: Reconnaissance photos of the Curious family shows no subversive activities. However, another member of the family, Vidcund, got abducted by alien while looking through the telescope. Base on all previous cases of alien abductions, one expect another alien baby to be added to the Curious family in the future.
